Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medal In 2017

In  late 2016 Scotts Miracle Grow contacted Christine as they knew her work, being one of the main sponsors for the ‘Seeds of Hope Garden’ at Guildford Cathedral, where her sculptures ‘Seeds of Hope Children’ take centre stage. They had designed a Children’s Garden  for Chelsea Flower Show  and needed 6  of Christine’s sculptures to bring it alive. The ‘Come to your Senses’ Eco Garden was aimed to encourage children to enter the haven of a garden instead of living overstimulated and sedentary lives inside the house.

The garden was situated in the Discovery Zone of the Great Pavilion.  Christine was thrilled to be chosen for this project and was even more thrilled when she was informed that not only had the garden won a gold medal, but a gold medal had been awarded to her because the judges thought that the sculptures gave  life to the garden.

Lord Noon

Lord Noon was a remarkable man and I was very honoured to be commissioned to do his portrait in commemoration of his work.  He had died the previous year but I was able to read his autobiography, get to know him via ‘U’ tube and the huge number of photographs given to me by his family and his company, Noon products and Kerry Foods.  A total of 4 casts were made in bronze. The first unveiling took place at NOON HQ and was met with great enthusiasm and tears of recognition. Further unveilings took place at The Noon Hospital in Rajasthan,  Bombay Halwa Headquarters and at the University of East London.

The People of Guildford

Working with laser cut steel for the first time I designed an installation along the 48 metres of railings at the Station View Development in Guildford. This installation depicts the everyday life of the people of Guildford in 36 double sided cut out figures attached to 24 of the railing panels. The laser cut stainless steel was created at Leedsheath in Guildford.
